Project: Open Corners on Lancaster

Location: Lancaster Avenue, Phildelphia, PA

Completed: Spring 2012

Planner: Interface Studio

Architect: Piatt Associates, inc.

Lancaster Avenue is an historic street in Philadelphia that fell victim to the urban blight that afflicted American cities in the second half of the 20th century. PEC is a community organization that provides necessary social services to residents, actively invests and develops properties in the community and is planning the future restoration of the neighborhood. Piatt Associates supplemented ongoing strategic planning orchestrated by Interface Studio by producing a vision of commercial revitalization for a half mile portion of Lancaster Avenue including an Avenue Concept, Plan of Merchandising Ideas, Plan of Development Opportunities and a series of images at specific nodes along the avenue to help sell the idea to investors, major universities and the City.
