The project included eight 3-bedroom condominiums plus retail space in a revitalizing Boston neighborhood. Green building strategies include super-insulation, large triple-glazed tilt-turn windows, high-efficiency heat pumps that provide space heating and cooling; hybrid heat pumps for hot water and drying clothes, energy recovery ventilators (ERV) for fresh air, and 129 photovolataic panels. The code required home energy raters (HERS) field tested the residences and declared that the building will be energy-positive - the building will make more energy then it will use. On-site parking, communal picnic garden and sheltered bike parking complete the resident amenities. The colors reflect the Victorian houses on adjacent streets. Living-Dining rooms stretch parallel to the street line, allow for larger than normal windows creating bright naturally lit residences.
